Why, welcome!

 

I’m so happy you stopped by A Realistic Wedding. The point of this site is, simply, to help brides plan their dream weddings, realistically. I feature tips on budgets, planning and vendors, and share a lot of gorgeous real weddings done by normal brides like us. (No Bridezillas up in here!) Wedding planning is such an incredible time in your life and, as I can attest, can be as stressful as it is gratifying. I’m here to help you put a real spin on it, help you find what you need while still having a level head (and a happy fiancée). In the end, your wedding will be beautiful because, at the end of the day, it’s all about love. To me, love is always beautiful 🙂

Now, as y’all know, I’m a new Mrs. I was married on March 25, 2011 at the William Aiken House in Charleston, South Carolina. It was, and will probably always be, one of the best days of my life. I’ve never been so happy, so content and just so loved. Plus, my vendors were incredible and truly brought my dreams to life. I can only share a few pictures right now, but it was the perfect day. For our honeymoon, we went to Turks & Caicos. It was SO NICE to be able to relax on a gorgeous beach, eat all I wanted without worrying about fitting into a dress and just spend time with my hubby. A few pics of our amazing week 🙂

I seriously can’t believe it’s already been 6 months!! Time flies when you’re having fun, right?

In addition to being a newlywed, I’m also an aspiring nutritionist and avid foodie. I blog about all things food, nutrition, health and fitness at The Realistic Nutritionist. Soon both of these blogs will be one and I’m so pumped for that!
