Ya’ll, I am over the moon excited to show you this incredible engagement session, taken at Montaluce Winery, a gorgeous vineyard & working winery 50 minutes north of Atlanta, Georgia. The sprawling grapes and the quaint Tuscan inspired cottages make you think you are situated right in the middle of the beautiful Italian countryside and not just minutes away from one of the country’s most bustling cities. The couple, Elizabeth and Taylor, are absolutely adorable (and decided to plan an Italian honeymoon after this shoot!) The session was shot by the talented duo Avina and Edwin of Enmuse Photography, who are based in Atlanta. I’m so excited to give ya’ll a sneak peek of what I’ve been oogling all morning!
Stay tuned tomorrow for the rest of this INCREDIBLE shoot. Trust me, you’ll want to see it :)!! Thank you Avina for submitting!
Happy Tuesday Shoesday friends, fans and the like! I apologize for the late post, but I had quite the busy morning. I went to a mobile government conference (don’t ask) with the hubby because he wanted me to “network and learn about what he does,” or so he bribed me with last night. The real reason, I came to find out this morning, was so I could get out of the house and “dress up in normal clothes.” I guess my nike workout pants were a little too unemployed chic for him. Either way, he was right. It was nice to put on a cute work outfit and feel like I had a real purpose for the day. Not that I’m unhappy being home and having time to devote to this blog and my brand, but I definitely miss being in the working world.
But let’s talk shoes now! One thing I love is when brides have fun with their wedding shoes, in color, pattern and design. But what I love, even more, is when the groom has fun with his foot apparel as well, with fun shoes or crazy socks. This adorable couple, captured by the incredibly talented Jose Villa Photography, show that you are never too old or too formal to have a little bit of fun with your wedding day look.
Happy Monday! If you are one of the many people who LOATHE Monday’s, I have something that should make them a bit more bearable. Or just give you an insatiable craving for a doughnut.
Doughnuts are nothing new, they’ve been around since the late 1800’s. Although their exact origin is still being disputed, these sweet fried dough cakes have become a staple in our culture as the ultimate breakfast food and indulgence. They come in a vast variety of flavors, from glazed to bacon maple. But I’m not here to sell you on the greatness of doughnuts, because there’s a pretty big chance you already know how good they are 🙂 I’m just here to talk about their place at your wedding’s sweets bar.
Happy Thursday Purseday!
Although I’m absolutely obsessed with this entire outfit, let’s focus on that beautiful blue bag for a minute. I absolutely love the pop of blue against the black and white skirt & the bright watermelon top. This bag is the ultimate summer clutch, don’t you think?

It is a gorgeous day out. The sun is shining and it’s only slightly offensively hot. Because of these factors, my post is going to be short today. What kind of person would I be if I let this beautiful day go to waste?
What I’m absolutely loving today are free-flowing wedding bouquets. Don’t get me wrong, I love traditional bouquets, but there is something so incredibly romantic and natural about a bouquet that isn’t tied together and flows. This kind of bouquet has recently resurfaced in popularity because of the royal wedding. Kate wanted something very natural and very reminiscent of a garden grown bouquet.
She isn’t the only royal celebrity to have this kind of bouquet either. Remember Princess Diana’s? It was a larger, fuller version of Kates.
I love how these bouquets look against a white, traditional wedding gown. As much as I loved my bouquet, if I could go back, I would definitely opt for a brighter, hand tied, cascading bouquet like the ones below.

So what’s your vote? Tied and neat or free and flowing?
Time to break out your sunscreen, flip-flops, bikinis and sunglasses because it’s the first “official” day of summer! Although the weather here in DC is not indicative to this, I’m still all smiles. Summer is my time to relax by the pool, catch up with old friends and take a much-needed vacation. Now that I’m at home during the day, I can partake in more summer activities like bike rides, ice-cream for lunch and naps in the sun. I know, life is tough 🙂 Now, what could be a better way to celebrate the warm summer months than gazing at the rest of the island engagement shoot featuring my cousin and his fiancée? In case you missed it, be sure to catch up on this adorable couple and see a darling teaser pic of them here!
Although I’m incredibly excited to share the rest of the photos, shot by the very talented Doug Treiber photography, I’m even more excited to share some funny stories of the day from the glowing bride-to-be, Clare! My whole family was up at the bay that weekend, and if you know my family, there was surely lots of mischief happening 🙂
For those who don’t know, Put In Bay is a small resort island off the state of Ohio on Lake Erie. It’s an island that boasts more golf carts than cars, the best fried walleye sandwiches around and the greatest candy bar in the state. Curt and my families have had properties up there since our parents were teenagers and we’ve been going up every summer since we were born. Put in Bay is in our bloods, it’s apart of who we are and I know I’m not out of line saying there is no place in the world we’d rather be during the hot summer months. Enough talk from me though, I’ll let the photos & Clare tell you the story of their perfect summer day.
This is one of my favorite photo shoots of all time, for a few reasons. For one, it features my cousin Curt and his incredible fiancee Clare. “I less” Clare, as we call her, came into our lives and immediately found a place within our crazy family. There was never a doubt in our mind that she would fit in. Secondly, the photos were taken at one of our family’s summer cottages on the gorgeous island of Put in Bay, Ohio, which is where we spent our summers. Some of my favorite memories growing up with Curt (the Boathouse, forbidden cottage parties) happened on that little island. Finally, it was taken by the amazingly talented Doug Treiber Photography. For their session, they chose one of those perfect summer days where there was a cool breeze in the air and not a cloud in the sky. Stay tuned tomorrow for the rest of the incredible shoot and to hear the story behind this adorable couple and their island paradise.
