Thursday Purseday: Colorful Clutches

I’m going to post n’ run today because we have a daunting 10 hour car ride in front of us. As tedious as the journey is, the destination makes it all worth it. My good friend Heidi (who was a BM in my wedding) is tying the knot in South Bend!

I am so so so excited for her big day and after what happened with the whole bachelorette debacle, I am beyond ready to see her again!

Thanks to the glory of Pinterest (seriously, what would we do without it?), I found the most INCREDIBLE set of colorful clutches, all of which would be perfect on your big day. Why have an ivory clutch when you can have one that is coral, blue or yellow?

I mean, how adorable are these? I love the ruffles, the size and the colors! Plus, you can customize them more by adding a fancy pin or brooch!

Happy Thursday, ya’ll!

Thursday Purseday: Spring Flowers

I think the snow gods finally heard me because last night we got some snow! A nice 8 inches, which is enough to give me a bonafied snow day from work! [I’m still working from home, but I’m in my pjs, so I can’t complain!] As much as I love snow, I’m getting eager for spring! I’m craving constant sunshine, sprouts of bright flowers, temperatures above the 30’s and my wedding! There’s something so amazing about stepping outside of your house after a cold winter to beautiful flowers and budding trees! Because I have serious spring fever, I wanted to showcase some handbags with gorgeous pastel and neon colors, fun flowers and soft and silky fabrics! Carrying one of these around would cheer up anyone’s snow blues!

I know, it’s been 2 days. Cut me some slack, I’ve been busy! But we have a winner friends! This lucky girl will receive the clutch of her choice from the amazing and talented McKay Pittman of Oatmeal Lace.  Thank you all, again, for following me! You’ve seen me through it all, and I can not express how thankful I am for all of your amazing support, words of wisdom, jokes and the smiles you put on my face! Okay, so without further ado, the winner of the amazing clutch is….

Who is the lucky number 13? Ashley aka @ilikestars!

Oh, beautiful clutches; how am I supposed to pick a favorite when ALL of them are so, so beautiful?! And cute? And wonderful, and precious, and LOVELY? It was a tough choice—I had such a hard time deciding, but in the battle of Lady in Rec vs. Something Blue, Something Blue came out the winner. And now to cross my fingers, toes, legs, eyes…

Congrats Ashley on your gorgeous new clutch!

Thursday Purseday Designer Spotlight: Alexander McQueen

Alexander McQueen was never afraid to ‘color outside of the lines’ when it came to his fashion, which is what made him such a legendary designer.  [Via]

This post doesn’t need much explanation because we all know how amazing Alexander McQueen’s designs are and what a fantastic person he was. His death was such a huge loss to the fashion world, and it’s still yet to be seen if anyone can follow in his well-defined footsteps. Although I’m definitely more argyle, cashmere and pale pink than skulls, nylon and black, I still have nothing but admiration and respect for his work. And every once in a while, I feel a little edgy, so a clutch with a skull clasp may replace my rosette ruffle clutch on those darker days of mine.  So to pay respect to a fabulous designer (and person), I’m showcasing some of his legendary bags this #ThursdayPurseday! All bags can be found at Neiman Marcus.
