In my many shopping exploits, there have been a few instances where I have fallen in love with a pair of shoes I once thought were repulsive. The color was off, the design was all wacky and I just was NOT going to throw them into my “must try on” pile.
But then, after I return to the shoe department to put back those glittery silver stripper heels (because really, when would I wear them?) I see those infamous shoes again and have a completely different reaction. Maybe it’s because I’m delerious at this point from trying on dress after dress, shoe after shoe, and my mind is fooling me. Or I’m just seeing them with a whole new set of eyes.
That, my friends, is how I feel about these Chinese Laundry pumps I found on DSW. At first, I was like “omg, these are hideous who would wear them!” Then, at second glance, I was like “well, actually, these are pretty cute. They’d be super cute with a white sundress!” So, I beg the question friends, fans and readers, what are your thoughts? Ugly or cute?
Honestly, I think they are a really fun, cute, end of summer wedge. I woud pair them with a coral, white or champage colored dress with some simple jewelry. I could see myself getting some use out of them around Labor Day! So, I’m eager, though, what are ya’lls thoughts?
I owe my fabulous office mate L credit for sending me these shoes for today’s post. With how busy yesterday was, I barely had enough time to eat lunch, so I owe her big for finding some sassy footwear to feature! As you all know, the past few days have been hard, emotionally, so I’ve been feeling pretty glum. So L, knowing me well enough, sent me these bright and cheery pumps as a way to cheer me up. And boy, did they! The bright pink color and the soft petals on the top instantly boosted my spirit, not to mention the economy (I just had to buy them). I’m pretty sure you couldn’t be sad if you wore these fabulous Badgley Mischkas! Oh and even better, they are named Kiwi. What is more quintessential summer than kiwi fruit?
Snazzy little numbers, aren’t they? I should feel some guilt for impulse buying them, but I know I’ll wear them. I mean, I have 4 more weddings to attend this year, I’m sure these will get use 🙂

I’m a colorful person. I’ve always been. This one woman I work with even commented “You always wear such bright colors, it’s really refreshing.” She said that during our 34 foot snow downpour as well. And you know what, I love to hear that. I wear bright colors, even in the dead of winter, because it adds a dash of sunshine and summer no matter what the temperature. Bright colors also make me feel better, happier and more optimistic [I’m sure they’ve done a study confirming this logic!] Some days, though, I just feel like rocking a LBD or a grey shift, so the only way to really incorporate some dashes of neon is in my shoes, which provides just the right amount pizzaz to my outfit! I also LOVE the idea of bridesmaids wearing all black dress with differently colored bright shoes [see photo above!] All fab shoes found at DSW.
