Real Wedding: Katie and David

Happy Tuesday, friends! I apologize for leaving you on the edge with my sneak peek of this adorable wedding but life has been busy! But have no fear, I have the rest of the GORGEOUS photos here with some words from the beautiful bride.

The April 30th ceremony took place at the St. Helena Catholic church, with a reception directly following at the Charles Krug Winery. I’ve always been a sucker for classical vineyard weddings and this one is definitely one of the prettiest I’ve seen. The pale pink peonies with the white, ivory bouquets were simple, yet glamorous and the centerpieces, place cards and props matched the natural, rustic chic vibe of the venue. One of my FAVORITE parts of this wedding doesn’t have anything to do with the decor. This couple is SO adorable. They are whimsical, fun and visibly madly in love. Couples like this are why I love weddings. They understand it’s a serious event, but you need to be YOU and have the whole thing represent that. Okay enough of my blabbing, lets look at some pretty pictures courtesy of the talented Lori Paladino photography.

The wedding planning process was certainly daunting at first. We really wanted it to be a classic, timeless affair and we kept that in mind as we were searching for all of our vendors starting with our wonderful wedding planner, Amy Thumhart! She had worked on my brother’s wedding so we decided to build on that relationship and invite her to make the magic happen for our wedding. From then on, we gathered a team of vendors who were absolutely amazing every step of the way. I could not thank them enough after the wedding day.

My Realistic Life: What I’m Loving Wednesday

As you all know, I’m working really hard (that’s what she said) on a band new website. Creating a look from scratch and creating a new BRAND is not easy work. It’s taken me quite a while to really hit the ground running but I’m so incredibly enthused about the look and feel of this gorgeous new site. It’s currently in the beginning stages of production, but I’m hoping it will be ready by fall! Um, it’s going to be SO pretty and I’m really excited.

So with that, I’m going to be blogging more about me, my life and what I’m loving. I mean, after all, that’s why you read this right? To see what’s going on in this little crazy brain of mine? It’ll also make my life so much easier, post and organization wise. I’ll still be posting a few times a day, just all in one snazzy, fabulous location.

Besides loving my new website, there are a few other things I’m absolutely obsessed with today, and they all have to do with outdoor decor. But can you blame me? We just moved and I have my landscape architect pants on. (I wear many different pairs of pants on any given day).

To really get an idea of how I can decorate, you should see what I’m workin’ with.

The trees are my favorite 🙂 So as you see, we have A LOT of space in which to decorate. I don’t like clutter (you’ve seen the houses with giant flamingos & plastic accessories in the yards) so I want it to be minimal but still impactful. I’m thinking of a lounge area in the shady knoll to the right with a few couches, a table, a make-shift tent and tons of lighting. I’m currently OBSESSED with outdoor chandeliers, string lights and lanterns hanging in trees. Then closer to the house, I’m thinking of tables and chairs, a picnic table and grill for eating. Luckily Pinterest understands the way my head works and has a ton of amazing ideas.

He may  have his man cave, but I’ll have my own outdoor wonderland 🙂 (Thanks Pier One for the quote!)

Wednesday Wedding Wonders: Outdoor Weddings

I have a very special place in my heart for outdoor weddings. This is partially due to the fact that my nuptials will take place under the glimmering night sky, but also partly due to how much I love outdoors and nature. When you have a wedding outdoors, you don’t need a lot of flashy accessories or expensive floral arrangements. What better backdrop could you ask for then giant oaks or blooming magnolia trees? There’s also an essence of romance and fairy tales when you host your big day outdoors.  Here is a sneak peek of my favorite outdoor wedding inspirations. [A few of which I plan to use at my wedding!]
