It’s raining here. They actually put out a flood warning. And yep, I live in Washington DC, the flood capital of the nation, didn’t you know? Naturally that means I need one of my mind vacations. Lucky for you, my mind vacation spot of the day also coincides with my new series, honeymoon spotlight! So friends, fans and followers, welcome to Bora Bora. I hope you like magnificent views and over the water bungalows! All photos via the Four Seasons.
This place is just perfect. We wanted to go here for our honeymoon but it’s a nice 15 hour flight from Charleston. Oh, and it’s a few thousand just for the flight. Maybe once we’ve settled into our careers this place might be more realistic. But let’s daydream now, shall we? And take a tour of the property.
The Four Seasons Bora Bora offers two types of guest rooms; over the water bungalows or multiple room villas. The villa is situated on land with private beach front access [second photo] while the bungalows [first photo] are positioned right over the water, some offering glass floors so you can see the fish beneath you! Although I’m sold on the views, let’s take a peek at the interior of the bungalows and suites!
Otemanu Over the Water Bungalow with Plunge Pool
If this isn’t perfect, I’m nervous to know what is. Each Otemanu bungalow features a private pool, a dining room for four people and four large glass panels that allow you to see the lagoon and aquatic wildlife below you! And look at the view from the bathroom! You’d have remarkable views of the South Pacific from every single angle. I’m pretty sure I’d be happy sleeping out with the sea turtles on the plunge pool deck in that comfy little sofa.
Two or Three Bedroom Beach front Villa
If an over water bungalow is not your thing, vacation like a queen in one of the 2 or 3 bedroom beach front villas. The villas feature a large foyer, a dining room for six people and a private pool. Although these are ideal for families or groups, why not indulge yourselves and honeymoon here? Nothing is more romantic than a gorgeous villa all to yourselves.
The only downfall of this amazing resort? The price tag. The over water bungalows are almost $1,000 a night! For an 8 night stay, you are looking at almost a $10,000 honeymoon, for just the room! However, if money is not an option, this is your place for a relaxing, beautiful honeymoon! Or a destination wedding?
All I know, for sure, is that E and I will be vacationing in one of those amazing bungalows for our anniversary 🙂
