Dress of the Day: Vera Wang Spring 2012

This dress? No words. I mean, what can you say about something so undeniably beautiful that when you look, you are rendered completely speechless? When I saw this gown on Brides, I knew, instantly, that I had to post it.

I can’t even place what I love most. The color is absolutely exquisite, the oversized bow & contrasting sash create the perfect silhouette and the extravagantly soft ruffled skirt give the gown an essence of medieval romance. This dress, my friends, is absolutely perfect. There just isn’t another way to describe it. The woman who wears this on her wedding day is brave, confidant, strong, fashionable, naturally beautiful and incredibly proud. She is a woman who isn’t afraid to be her. I would absolutely feel like a queen in this gown.

Dress of the Day: Iris/Bardot of Melissa Sweet

If there is one thing I really miss about being a bride to be, it’s trying on wedding dresses. I honestly felt amazing in almost every single gown I tried on. Not to brag, but my body looks good in wedding gowns! I fit the sample sizes perfectly and they just work with my curves. I know, first world problem. But, when you’re no longer a bride, not being able to try on dresses that make you look, and feel, like a million bucks kind of stinks. Not to mention, I would have LOVED to try on the gorgeous dress I’m about to show you by Melissa Sweet.

Can you see the cascading ruffles of the skirt and the sparkle of the beads on the bodice? No? Need a closer look?

I know, it’s incredible. I don’t know what I love more, the top or the skirt. The sparkled beading of the top and statement neckline give the gown such a glamorous appeal and the the cascading, organza ruffles soften it up, giving it a very romantic look and feel. Dress of the Day: Carolina Herrara Rachel

This dress gives me chills. There’s no other way to describe it. It’s so incredibly unique and the detailing is absolutely perfect, every little stitch given the utmost attention. With a dress like this, you don’t need jewelry, a veil or even snazzy shoes, you just need a bold, “this is me and MY DAY” kind of attitude. You will turn heads, left and right, with this number. I’m honestly speechless when it comes to describing it, so I’ll just let the pictures speak for it.

I just love the black and white lace and the pink rosette sash. A statement dress that would be perfect at a renovated art gallery wedding or a venue with a modern look, like exposed brick or pipes, don’t you think? Carolina Herrara, you continue to amaze me.

Dress of the Day: BHLDN.

I’ve been swooning over the dresses and gowns of BHLDN since the beginning. I wanted to wait until the craze died down a bit before I did a dress of the day post, but I don’t think that will ever happen. And for good reason. These gowns and dresses are mind-blowing pieces of wearable art. Each gown boasts immaculate detailing, like drop skirts with all over floral pattern, ruffled hems and sewn on beads and sequins.

So how does one choose a dress of the day when all of the dresses are worthy of this title? You sort of have to close your eyes and feature the one you land on! Today, friends, we are showcasing a gorgeous green dress that has a ruffly hem (wee!) and gorgeous ribbon texture, made of 100% pure silk. Oh, and did I mention it’s green? A gorgeous shade of celadon, this would be a fabulous bridesmaid dress (for the wealthiest of weddings) or even a dress for the non traditional bride. This dress is moderately priced if you are purchasing it for your wedding or a black tie, fancy gala, but for bridesmaids or guests of weddings, this is quite steep at $1,600!

I’m obsessed with this dress on the model because the colors looks amazing next to her fair complexion and red hair. This dress gives other dresses serious complexes.

Marvelous Monday: Dress of the Day

I would say happy Monday, but I’m pretty sure that’s sacrilegious. So, happy beautiful dress day! I’m currently having a mild panic attack since the wedding is 18 days away so looking at something that has NOTHING to do with my event is proving to relax me a bit. So onward to the gorgeous dress of the day!

I’ve been a big fan of Christo’s since I tried on one of the magnificent gowns 8 months ago. When you put on a Christos gown, you don’t feel like a typical bride. The fabric, the shapes and the embellishment turn you into the center of attention, a bride with a serious sense of style. You look and feel like you belong on the runway! I sort of want to try it on, just to see what it looks like in real life. Once a bride, always a bride? No? Well, just take a peek at it. It’s hard not to want!

Marvelous Monday: Dress of the Day

So, I just got back from Vegas. Safe to say, it will be a pretty short post. I’m utterly exhausted, but in a good way. I had an amazing bachelorette weekend! I’m so blessed to have such an amazing group of friends and family! I’ll do a recap post once I get my act together. While you patiently await that story, I’ll show you a gorgeous dress. Win, win right?

What I love most about this gown, made by Allure Bridals, is the gorgeous cascading lace bodice and the feathered bottom. These details make the dress perfect for vintage brides who want to make a statement and wear a dress with a bit more glitz and glamour! The Allure Couture line is pricier than their traditional line, however, still offer gowns ranging from $1,000 and above!

Don’t you just LOVE this gown? I’m swooning right now. Okay, I’m going to take a nap. I just can’t bounce back as quickly as I used to.

Valentine’s Inspired Dress of the Day

Oh hey Valentine’s Day. Nice to see you! Thanks for bringing some warm weather! It’s about damn time! Before I share a perfectly pink Valentine’s inspired dress of the day, I’m sharing a fabulous e-card from Some e Cards. Been there? If you haven’t, you are missing out.

This card makes me laugh out loud every single time I read it! I hope you are all having a beautiful and loving Valentine’s Day! And if you’re single, I hope you’re having a wonderful day wearing black and spitting on happy couples.

I’m a part of a happy couple but am not super into Valentine’ s Day. Although I’m a sucker for flowers and candy, I don’t usually make a big deal out of it. I’m whipping up some delicious culinary treats for my sweetie tonight, but other than that? Business as usual my friends. I won’t be a Scrooge though, for all of those love birds out there, so take a peek at this GORGEOUS pale pink dress from Claire La Faye.

Much like her other gowns, this is made from soft silk chiffon and has a very light and airy texture. I visualize this gown at  a late spring, early summer garden brunch or at a warm, outdoor wedding.

I’m really getting into this whole ‘dress of the day’ category, it gives me another reason to stalk gorgeous wedding gowns every day! This next gown is simple, yet sophisticated, with a flattering shape and flirty floral sash! Better yet? It’s made by my favorite retailer, J Crew! I love their wedding gowns because they are made of wearable fabrics like cotton, soft satin and taffeta and are perfect for a modern bride who is having a spring or summer outdoor wedding!

Aren’t the buttons so cute? Oh, and even better, the dress is only $1,500 so you can look beautiful and still remain in budget!

Dress of the Day

When I look at this dress, I can’t help but close my eyes and envision myself in it, twirling around in a fairy tale. This gown has an ethereal quality that I haven’t seen anywhere else. Leave it to Claire La Faye to create such a piece of artwork! Pair its soft and flowing fabric with this feather-light photography and you have yourself an incredibly angelic scene!

Dress of the Day: Best of Both Worlds

I’m not usually a bandwagon jumper, but this “dress of the day” blog trend is just too fun not to participate in! Today’s dress comes from the uber talented Erin Coleman behind The Peppermint Pretty. I did a full post on them with lots more dresses, so click your way to more gorgeous designs! I titled this post the best of both worlds because that’s what this dress is! It has a modern shape and silhouette with vintage ruffles and lace striping. A perfect dress for a bride torn between modern structure and vintage embellishment!
