Tuesday Shoesday: Hello, Tweed

First, I want to thank everyone for their extremely kind words and for being such an amazing support system yesterday. I honestly don’t know how I’d get through my darkest times without ya’ll! The funeral is scheduled for this weekend and we are driving down on Thursday night. I’m always happy to get to go home to Cleveland to see my family, I just wish it was under different circumstances this time. Either way, I’m glad to be home with my loved ones, especially during this time of need.

Now, enough sadness for now, let’s talk shoes. And not just any ol’ shoes friends, a pair so magnificent they will knock you into next Tuesday Shoesday.  I’m not traditionally drawn to tweet patterns in the Spring or Summer, but these are no ordinary tweed.  The bright oranges, reds, greens and blues give these tweed pumps a look perfect for summer cocktail parties and date nights by the water.  Although the price is a bit steep ($745) these Oscar de la Renta’s are worth the splurge. Available at Neiman Marcus.

You could go with the red/orange/chocolate brown ones…

…or go for a navy/white or green/chocolate brown?

I’m LOVING the orange/red duo. I would rock those Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter! (But at $795 bones, I would need to!)

Tuesday Shoesday: A Lil’ Choo

Happy Tuesday Shoesday friends! I haven’t been partaking in this ritual in a few weeks, and I’m sorry for that. With literally just over a week left until the wedding, I’ve been stressed out of my eyeballs and haven’t really had a chance to peruse shoes. But, alas, I found time today and boy am I glad I did. This next little number is certainly going to make your heart stop. It’s by no means affordable (comes in over $1800 dollars) but is the sexiest shoe I’ve seen in a while. These sparkly Jimmy Choo’s are the perfect pump for a special night on the town or even a wedding, if you so chose.  These shoes are what dreams are made of and I’m pretty sure they will be what I daydream about all day :) You can find them at Neiman Marcus.

I told you they were sexy. If only my credit card wasn’t nearly maxed out because of the wedding…

Tuesday Shoesday: Flats to Match Your Bright Shoes

It’s no surprise how much I love the bright wedding shoe trend, I mean, my bridal shoes are a bright hue of blue! It’s no longer the times of boring ivory and white, nowadays brides are using their shoe color choices to showcase their favorite hues and their personalities. A sexy, bright heel is fun to photograph and wear when you’re dancing up a storm, especially if you have a short dress that shows them off! However fabulous they are, they can really take a toll on your stems, even if you are one of the smart ladies who wore them in. No matter how many times you danced around the house in them or wore them out, 14 hours in a high pair of heels is going to hurt. Instead of maiming your feet, pair your bright heels with a matching pair of sandals, flats or flip-flops! That way, you still get that bright color that you love and your feet get a break! It’s a win win! Check out these pairings for bright wedding shoes. It’s your wedding, why spend it in pain?

Tuesday Shoesday Beach Edition: Wedges

I’d like to trade my coffee for a fruity margarita, please! [1 & 2]

It was 60 degrees yesterday. I wanted to frollick in the park by my office all afternoon. Of course, that didn’t happen because I have to work [lame I know] and by the time I went home and was outside, there was 979385838 mph winds and it was frigid. What is the temperature like today, you ask? Well, it FEELS like 20. So, about that. Although my body can’t be transported out of this ice land, my mind sure can be! So, while my physical being is shivering, my mental being is laying on a hammock in the South Pacific with an umbrella drink and the sun beating down on me. If I’m going to be beaching it up,  I’ll need some fabulous new wedges, don’t you think? Shoes can be purchased at Neiman Marcus.

Tuesday Shoesday: Daydreaming of T & C

So the weather outside is gross. It’s sprinkling, the sky is completely dark and there’s still dirty/dark/ugly slush everywhere. If it’s going to snow, snow, and if it’s not going to snow, well, then make it hot enough so the gross slush disappears. Okay? I don’t like to play this in between game. Because I can’t change what the weather looks like outside, I’m going to continue to daydream about the gorgeous, happy, sunny beach I’ll be on in a month and a half. Let’s all take a gander at that now, okay?

Feel better? I do! Because I’m in beach mode, today’s Tuesday Shoesday is focused on flat, embellished sandals! Even if I can’t wear them yet, I will be able to in March! All sandals can be purchased at Nordstrom.

Tuesday Shoesday: A Little Bit of Kate

Who doesn’t love Kate Spade? Seriously, I’ve yet to meet a fashion minded woman who’s scoffed at this well-known trendy designer. Her designs are unique but classic, whimsical but sophisticated, embellished yet timeless. Her shoes provide a vacation from the ordinary, they give your outfit a whole new breath of life. As you can tell, I’m a wee bit obsessed. Today, for this lovely [trying to remain optimistic] Tuesday, I am revisiting this fabulous designer and showing off some of my new-found favorites. If only money grew on trees…

Tuesday Shoesday: I Needed an Outlet :)

That about sums up how I feel right now.

As the title alludes to, I’M A LITTLE FREAKIN’ STRESSED. And it’s over a part of wedding planning that is not fun, at all. It’s stupid and logistical but absolutely has to be done. I’m talking about coordinating shuttle services to and from the venue from one of our booked hotels. Although this is my fault for assuming, I just thought the hotel [a big chain hotel, none the less] would have some sort of shuttle service to and from their hotel for big events. Well, as I found out today, I was VERY wrong with that assumption. They don’t offer any sort of shuttle service. At this point, I wasn’t too stressed because we had a back-up plan already. We were already in conversation with a limo company that was going to take the bridal party around Charleston for photos. I thought, “well, why not have them do the shuttle service too, kill two birds with one stone and still stay in budget?”  Once again, wrong in that assumption. It would cost like double our budget to do that, and trust me, we just don’t have the extra funds lying underneath our couch or in a rainy day fund. This brings me to my current panic-stricken and explicative-shouting position. I just don’t understand why we can’t book a limo for 2 hours for photos, then for an hour to pick guests up before the ceremony and an hour to pick them up after the reception. I just don’t get why we need to pay for the 7+ hours when no one is using it! But, I’m also not in the business and am just being a bit of a bridezilla. I’m sure there is a perfectly good explanation as to why this can’t happen. But right now? Entertain me friends, and just let me vent.

Since I’m fuming over here, I needed an outlet, and I needed it fast.  Thankfully, today is Tuesday Shoesday so an outlet was quite easy to find! [Thank you Neiman Marcus!] I’m feeling very extreme, obviously, so I found some gorgeous and couture pumps that are dashing, daring, sassy, sexy and very unique. These are definite Carrie Bradshaw pumps! What do you think, about the shoes and the shuttle?

What do you think about this extravagant shoe? It kind of reminds me of a child’s outdoor play set, with all of the cut outs and colors! It’s a definite SJP pump, that’s for sure!

Tuesday Shoesday: J Crew Ballet Flats

If you know me, you are very aware of my J Crew obsession. I can’t help it, their clothes are magnificent, accessories are to die for and their shoes? Out of this world, especially when it comes to their ballet flats. They come in a wide variety of patterns and are made from amazing Italian materials like leather, soft suede and luxe tweed. Although each pair is not cheap, considering the quality of the shoe, $150 is not that bad of a deal. I’m currently oogling the lace-up pink ones and the studded suede flats with the bow tie. Which are your favorite?

Tuesday Shoesday: White/Ivory Pumps

Don’t you LOVE my bridesmaid dress? It’s even prettier on :)

I’ve been doing a lot of shoe shopping lately, except not for myself. As you know, I already have my wedding shoes! They are sitting so perfectly in their box in my closet. I’ve already tried them on and waltzed around my apartment. I’m slightly cooky, I realize. Since my shoes are taken care of, I’m stepping in to help my gorgeous bridesmaids pick out theirs! They are wearing bright, colbalt blue dresses paired with a single strand of pearls and ivory heels. The contrast of the ivory and blue is beautiful! Now, if I was going the ivory shoe route, I’d pick a pair that was traditional with a dash of sparkle and embezzlement. As a bride to be or just a regular gal, nothing perks up an outfit like a gorgeous shoe!
